ClassView ("we," "our," or "us") is a classroom activity management platform designed exclusively for educational environments. Our service enables teachers and school administrators to maintain classroom visibility and support productive learning environments through authorized monitoring tools.

ClassView provides a Chrome browser extension and web-based dashboard that allows educators to view student activity within school-managed devices during authorized classroom sessions. This platform is built for schools, teachers, students, and educational organizations operating in managed Chromebook environments.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our classroom management services. By using ClassView, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2Information We Collect

ClassView collects information necessary to provide classroom activity management services within authorized educational environments. Data collection occurs only during active, school-authorized classroom sessions.

Important: Classroom activity data is collected only during active classroom sessions initiated by authorized educators. No monitoring occurs outside of these authorized educational contexts.

4Authentication Providers

ClassView integrates with trusted identity providers to ensure secure and convenient access for educational users:

Google Workspace Integration

Secure sign-in via Google accounts, with optional Google Classroom roster integration for seamless class management.

Microsoft 365 Integration

Secure sign-in via Microsoft accounts for schools using Microsoft 365 for Education environments.

Authentication is used exclusively for secure access control. We receive only the information necessary to verify your identity and organizational affiliation.

5Data Sharing

ClassView does NOT sell user data. We do NOT share data for advertising purposes.

Data collected through ClassView is accessible only to:

  • Authorized teachers within their assigned classrooms
  • School administrators for their organization
  • ClassView technical staff for service maintenance (under strict confidentiality)

We may disclose information if required by law, such as in response to a valid legal process or to protect the safety of users.

6Student Privacy

ClassView is designed with student privacy as a core principle. We are committed to supporting schools in meeting their obligations under applicable privacy laws.

FERPA Compliance

ClassView operates as a "school official" under FERPA, processing educational records only as directed by schools.

Schools obtain necessary parental consent as part of their authorization of ClassView within their environments.

11Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make material changes, we will:

  • Update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy
  • Notify school administrators of significant changes via email
  • Post prominent notice within the ClassView dashboard when appropriate

Continued use of ClassView after changes to this policy constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
